Story
Because his father (Murali Goud) insists on marrying him off only if the bride pays a dowry of Rs. 2 crore, Katnam Prasad (Sapthagiri), a guy employed in Malaysia, is still unmarried at the age of 38. Priya (Priyanka Sharma) and her family, meantime, are determined to settle in the US and are avoiding partnerships that don’t fit with their vision.
Priya discovers Prasad after being turned down several times, and she deftly chooses to wed him without giving him a dime as a dowry. When her scheme succeeds, Prasad’s father becomes enraged. But for Priya and her family, a startling discovery completely upends everything. What is the surprising turn of events? Why do they have such a strong desire to relocate overseas? What is the reason for his father’s strong dowry demands?

Review
In contrast to his often exuberant performances, Sapthagiri plays a more subdued role, yet he still manages to amuse in some scenes with his facial expressions and responses to diverse circumstances. To a certain degree, his character’s hardships and comedic timing provide for amusing moments.
A lady with lofty goals and desires is fairly portrayed by Priyanka Sharma. She has a pleasant on-screen persona and shines in a few scenes. Her persona, which stands for those who aspire to live better lives abroad, has some intriguing moments.
In an attempt to inject humor, Muralidhar Goud, Annapurna, and other supporting actors perform in their trademark comedic manner. Occasionally, their scenes manage to produce some amusing moments.
Comedy is most effective when it comes naturally and makes people laugh. Sadly, Pelli Kani Prasad’s humor comes across as forced, and a lot of its humorous moments are ruined by overly dramatic performances.
Several sequences are made aggravating rather than funny by the over-the-top acting, which detracts from the enjoyment. Pramodini, Mahaboob Basha, and Priyanka are examples of characters that overdo it, making otherwise amusing situations boring.
Some scenes feel out of place and superfluous, such as when a domestic helper taunts and strikes the main character for comedic effect. There are also a number of conversations and scenarios that are evocative of sequences from popular movies. Although drawing inspiration is not a problem, its implementation is not really original.

What should have been the film’s greatest strength—humor—becomes its greatest flaw. The photography is good, yet the music is mediocre. Although the editing is rather fluid and the production values are respectable, none of these elements are able to take the movie above mediocrity.

Overall, Pelli Kani Prasad is a drab comedy that suffers from shoddy production and over-the-top acting. Despite Sapthagiri’s respectable performance, the movie lacks uniqueness and compelling humor.
